A flat journey into the Steinbachtal valley to the Owl Trail, where you can learn all sorts of interesting facts about the owls of the Dürrenstein wilderness area at the eight stations.

From Göstling a short stretch along the Ybbstal cycle path towards Lunz to the crossroads at Kögerlwirt. From there into the Steinbachtal valley - an asphalt road next to the stream, immersing you in a wild and romantic aura in no time at all. After a few flat kilometers, you reach the starting point of the Eulensweg trail:

The Owl Trail leads into the head of the Windischbachau valley and is an experience for the whole family. Interesting facts about the five owl species found in the Dürrenstein wilderness area - eagle owl, Ural owl, tawny owl, great horned owl and pygmy owl - are presented at eight stations along the trail. The scenic attractions and the structures of the second Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline also make a visit worthwhile. The trail runs partly on a paved road, then along a forest road, on foot or by bike.

Return to Göstling along the same route.
