The Schwarzholzweg is approx. 4 km long and leads past Viehdorf's landmark, the "gläsernen Kunsthandwerksbirne" and the parish church. It is part of the four-season circular hiking trail and is located at an altitude of around 350 meters.

Coming from Hainstetten, turn right off the road leading to Seisenegg at the Haider house. You walk up through the forest and reach the farms of Sippenberg and a chapel. Continue through the village of Schiltdorf until you reach the L 91 country road, turn left along this road for a short distance and then turn left again before the so-called Berger chapel. The path now leads hikers through the fields of the Schiltdorf farmers to the Grub goods road, where they turn right a little, cross the main road that connects Viehdorf with Seisenegg and reach the Viehdorf cemetery on the so-called Mühlweg. The tower of the cemetery chapel can be seen from afar. Keep right at the cemetery to reach the traffic circle at the south-western entrance to Viehdorf. In the center of the roundabout is the glass artisan pear, one of Viehdorf's landmarks since 2002. Another landmark is the parish church dedicated to the Apostle Princes Peter and Paul in the town center, which can be reached in a few minutes from the traffic circle. To the left of the church you can take a narrow road, to the right of the church via the so-called Kirchenstiege to a crossroads, where you can decide whether to end the hike with a visit to the village café run by the Mistelbacher family (also a bakery) or a stop at Gasthaus Korn (Sonnenhof).

Coming from Hainstetten, turn right at Haus Haider off the road leading to Seisenegg. Walk uphill through the forest to reach the farms of Sippenberg and a chapel. Continue through the village of Schiltdorf to State Road L 91, follow it a short distance to the left, and turn left again before the so-called Berger Chapel. The trail now leads hikers through the fields belonging to the Schiltdorf farmers to the Grub farm road; follow this road a short distance to the right, cross the state road connecting Viehdorf with Seisenegg, and reach the Viehdorf cemetery via the so-called Mühlweg. The tower of the cemetery chapel is visible from afar. At the cemetery, keep to the right to reach the roundabout at the southwestern entrance to Viehdorf. In the center of the roundabout stands the glass artisan pear, one of Viehdorf’s landmarks since 2002. Another landmark is the parish church in the town center, dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul, which can be reached in just a few minutes from the roundabout. To the left of the church, you can take a narrow road, and to the right of the church, you can take the so-called “Kirchenstiege” (church steps) to reach a crossroads, where you can decide whether to end your hike with a visit to the Mistelbacher family’s village café (which also serves as a bakery).

In Viehdorf, culinary delights are offered at the “Sonnenhof” inn, run by the Korn family, or at the “Dorfcafé Mistelbacher,” which features a bakery, pastry shop, and café. In Seisenegg: the “Hoftaverne Seisenegg” inn, run by the Zatl family; in Hainstetten: the Hainstetten inn and snack bar (Margarete Ehebruster).
