Two wonderful hikes to the waterfalls of St. Aegyd right at the foot of the Göller
Easy to walk and in the fall you think you are in the Dolomites because of the rock of the Göller.
Sturdy footwear
Ahornhof – Waterfalls The Ahornhof is located about 2.5 km west of Kernhof on the federal highway. Parking is available here. Now follow the farm road toward the clearly visible tower wall. After about 200 m (signpost), cross the bridge.
After crossing the bridge, follow the channeled torrent to the edge of the forest, then continue along the right-hand branch of the trail into the woods. The wide footpath climbs gently and narrows to a narrow trail after about 500 m. This is also where the torrent control structures begin. Climb over each of these structures on their left side (as you walk) and continue until you reach a small hilltop where the waterfall first comes into view. You can walk all the way to the base of the waterfall.
Time required from the Ahornhof to this point : 3/4 hour.
After the bridge, follow the left path. Walk about 700 m into the valley until, on the right, a faintly marked trail through sparse forest leads over a gently rising scree cone toward the steep slopes rising in the background. From here, it’s only about 10 minutes to the waterfall.
Time required from the Ahornhof to the waterfall: 3/4 hour
