St. Aegyd–Kernhof “Marterl” Themed Hiking Trail (or vice versa ) Starting at Gasthof Perthold in St. Aegyd, the “Marterl” Themed Hiking Trail leads through Kernhof. Between St. Aegyd and Kernhof, you can gain an insight into the wayside shrine culture of Lower Austria on the “Wayside Shrine Theme Trail” and, in addition, boost your health through Nordic walking with the instructors from the nordicsports academy St. Aegyd. “Funeral Cross” at Gasthof Perthold - Wayside shrine near the former Hollerer Inn – Niche wayside shrine at the Hajszan Nursery – “Funeral Cross” at the Unrechttraisen access road – Wooden cross at the MAHO equestrian farm – Wayside shrine at the Wällischgraben access road – – Chapel at the Zöchling/Ebner farm – Chapel at the “Am Oberkeer” farm – Accident cross at the “An der Lehmgrube” farm – Oysmüller accident cross – Wayside shrine at the Gnedt inn – Wayside shrine at the “Naderbauer” farm – Wooden cross near “Schindlhof” – Memorial cross between Sattelhof and Ahornhof (Johann Rabl) – Memorial cross near “Sattelhof” – Wooden cross near “Ahornhof.” This themed trail follows the Nordic Center bike path. A separate brochure is available featuring the stories associated with each site.
