Description
At 1,398 m, the Reisalpe is one of the highest mountains in the Lower Austrian Prealps and offers hikers a unique view. From the treeless summit, you have a clear view in all directions! As far as the Traunstein, Ostrong, Schneeberg, Rax, Hochschwab, Gippel, Göller across the Danube valley and, on particularly clear days, even as far as the peaks of the Gesäuse.
The kitchen of the Reisalpenschutzhaus (60 seats) is run with great dedication and serves traditional dishes such as sausage and grammel dumplings or roast pork as well as seasonal dishes such as chanterelles, sheep's cheese and asparagus. The hut specialty par excellence is game from the "Lilienfelder Voralpenwild" gourmet region. Reservations are essential for overnight stays at the hut (40 beds).
