The market town of Bischofstetten in the district of Melk is nestled in the hilly Mostviertel region - around 17 kilometers away from Sankt Pölten. In addition to Bischofstetten itself, the municipality also includes 22 other villages. There is plenty going on all year round at the sports field in Bischofstetten - with a neighboring multi-purpose hall for festivals and events of all kinds. And there is no shortage of historical sights either: three valuable late-Gothic statues of saints have been restored as a last reminder of the former church not far from the village of Haag. The figures of St. Dorothea, St. Barbara and St. James the Elder can now be viewed in the Jogerl Chapel in Haag. Also worth seeing are the parish church of St. Agatha in Bischofstetten, the vicarage from 1746 and a war memorial built in the 1920s.

There are also events for children and adults. Short hikes lead from here to the surrounding "hiking inns" Gasthof Sterkl and Zur Krumpe.
Agreat tip for cyclists: the family-friendly Krumpe cycle path leads along a former railroad line from Mank to Bischofstetten.
