Ernsthofen

Ernsthofen is located in the very west of the Mostviertel region, directly on the Enns River, which forms the border with Upper Austria. The relaxing village on the Enns reservoir has good transport connections, is located directly on the ÖBB (Crown Prince Rudolf's Railway) line and close to the highway connections Haag, St. Valentin and Enns.

Noteworthy is the pilgrimage church of St. Mary on the Flight into Egypt (built in 1665), the late Gothic vicarage and the branch church in Kanning, which according to legend was founded by St. Wolfgang in the 10th century. His altarpiece also adorns the massive baroque high altar.

Various traditional events such as maypole-setting, Mostkirtag, Sonnwendfeuer, Kanninger Kultur-sommer as well as carnival parade and Ernsthofner Karneval always provide variety and entertainment in the community. Farm-gate sales of agricultural products.
