Göller
Mountain summit
Description
The Göller is a 1,766-metre-high mountain in the Mürzsteg Alps in Lower Austria. Its summit belongs to the Lower Austrian market town of St. Aegyd am Neuwalde, which is considered the most densely wooded municipality in Austria. This hiking area is home to one of the last primeval forests in the country.

Hiking trails and huts
The Zdarsky and Göllerhütte huts offer refreshments, where hikers are spoiled with home cooking, Cider and wine. Overnight stays are possible in the Göllerhütte, Hofalmhütte or on the Gippel. (Please enquire about the operating times in advance)
Ascents:
- The most popular ascent to the Göller starts at Kernhofer Gscheid and leads past the Gsenger from the north to the extensive summit plateau. Walking time about 2½ hours.
- From Donaudörfl east of the Lahnsattel on a forest road to the Waldhüttsattel, continue via the managed Göllerhütte of the Naturfreunde 1,440 and past the Kleiner Göller from the east to the summit. Walking time about 3 hours.
- From Kernhof on a steep path to the Waldhüttsattel, continue as described above. Walking time about 3½ hours.
- Another route is the Göller - Waldhüttsattel - Gippel crossing. Experienced mountaineers can climb both peaks in one day.

- Excursion highlights for the whole family await in Kernhof at the White Zoo and Camel Theater - with lots of exotic animals, multimedia shows and exciting guided tours.
- Fans of Nordic sports will find 100 km of groomed cross-country ski trails in the alpine Mostviertel region. The Nordic Center St. Aegyd am Neuwalde is the largest and most versatile cross-country skiing area in the Mostviertel.
- The local history museum in St. Aegyd am Neuwalde shows the history of the village since the beginning of the 12th century.
