Haag
SMALL town - really BIG
Surrounded by the hilly foothills of the Alps with impressive farms, the municipality of Haag lies on a small hill at just under 350 m above sea level. Haag is considered a place with a special flair, where hospitality and conviviality are very important, but also an ideal starting point for day trips to the Wachau and neighboring Upper Austria.
A visit to the zoo is of course an absolute must during a stay in Haag. Experiences for young and old await visitors to the zoo with its more than 70 exotic and native animal species and many play opportunities for children. Interesting facts about the country and its people can be learned at the Lower Austrian Open Air Museum and the Mostviertel Museum "Cider + Music" (folklore museum).
In summer, you can cool off in the adventure pool, while an evening at the Hague Theater Summer is a must for theater lovers. An extraordinary natural spectacle is offered at the end of April/beginning of May with the blossoming of thousands of fruit trees. Hikers and cyclists have a wide variety of routes to explore the wonderful landscape. The municipality of Haag also offers an inexpensive e-bike rental service for holidaymakers and locals alike. Two modern e-bikes can be rented for half or full days at the Forstmayr family's Lindenhof farm.
