Prinzersdorf

Prinzersdorf is a market town with 1612 inhabitants and an area of 4.06 km². The municipality is located on federal highway 1 and the Western Railway, just 8 km from the provincial capital of St. Pölten in the Pielach valley on the southern edge of the Dunkelsteinerwald forest. The twin town is the Hungarian town of Letenye. The municipality consists of the cadastral communities of Prinzersdorf and Uttendorf and was established as a market town in 1969.
From Prinzersdorf, you can go on beautiful hikes along the Pielach, and cycle paths also run through Prinzersdorf. The Pielach beach is a popular place to relax in summer. Excursion destinations in the surrounding area include Schallaburg Castle, Melk Abbey, the Wachau, Aggstein ruins or the provincial capital as well as the hiking areas of Dunkelsteinerwald and the foothills of the Alps. Prinzersdorf has an excellent infrastructure: grocery store, bank, post office, pharmacy, general practitioner, dentist, nursery school, football pitch and a small school. doctor, dentist, kindergarten, soccer, volleyball and tennis courts, 4 restaurants and 2 hotels and much more.
