The Melker Alpenvorland cycle route branches off from the Erlauftal cycle path in Purgstall and leads via Oberndorf to Ober-Grafendorf.
In the urban area of the town of Mank, the route joins the new Krumpe cycle path. The former Krumpe narrow-gauge railroad is now followed by a paved cycle path through the idyllic Melk Alpine foothills.
The path continues over the Zettelbach bridge to the former Heinrichsberg railroad stop, where the Krumpen-Rast, a revitalized hut complete with seats and benches, invites you to take a break from cycling. In the hut, railroad enthusiasts can marvel at nostalgic photos of the former Krumpe narrow-gauge railroad. The path winds its way down through a wood towards Kilb. Here you ride through the village for a short distance before turning back onto the former Krumpe. The path leads straight through the middle of the fields - accompanied by beautiful views of the nearby Alpine foothills.
After 11 kilometers you reach Bischofstetten and after another 5 kilometers the end point of the Krumpe cycle path, St. Margarethen an der Sierning. In the center of the village you will find the St. Margarethner FrischeEck (Nah & Frisch), the Kulturcafé in the community center, the Gasthaus Zur Gemeindestube and the Gasthaus Schmidl for refreshments, rest and relaxation.
The Krumpe cycle path ends here, while the Melk Alpine foothills cycle route continues to Ober-Grafendorf and joins the Pielchtal cycle path here. From here, you can reach the provincial capital of St. Pölten in around 15 kilometers via the Roman Cycle Route .

A1, Loosdorf exit, then take state roads to Mank. Take the B39 and B29 to St. Margarethen an der Sierning.
Around Mank, Kilb, Bischofstetten, and St. Margarethen an der Sierning, there are many signposted bike loops that invite you to explore the region on quiet side roads. Hospitality is also a highlight along the Krumpe Bike Trail. All three towns feature down-to-earth local innkeepers and several excellent traditional taverns, as well as coffeehouses and charming farm shops offering a wide variety of local products.
