The region’s impressive mountain scenery stretches from theÖtscher, the landmark of the Mostviertel, via the Dürrenstein to the Hochkar. Around the Königsberg, varied routes invite you to explore, as do leisurely climbs to rustic alpine pastures.
Hidden amongst the rugged peaks are mystical gorges, deep ravines and fascinating caves. Gentle alpine landscapes, expansive high plateaus and romantic river valleys create charming contrasts. Tours of varying levels of difficulty ensure a diverse range of hiking options and make the Ybbstal Alps the ideal destination for unforgettable days spent in nature.
My favourite hike takes me to Leckermoos. For me, this place feels like a little piece of home: within walking distance of my house, familiar and yet special every time. The unique moorland landscape in the heart of the Dürrenstein wilderness area is what makes this hike so special to me time and time again.
