Varied trails, impressive peaks and unspoilt natural landscapes make the Ybbstal Alps a diverse trail-running destination. Around the Ötscher and the Hochkar, physical challenge is combined with an immersive experience of nature and a special sense of freedom.
The range of routes on offer extends from quiet, comparatively flat trails to technically demanding and physically challenging mountain trails. In each of the two trail running areas, there are seven different routes to choose from. This means there are suitable routes for various levels of experience and sporting ambitions.
On the Hochkar and around the Ötscher, the trail winds through alpine terrain, across mountain pastures and through wildlife habitats. To ensure it stays that way, a little consideration is needed along the way.
