Winter time

in the Ybbstal Alps

When snow blankets the mountains, forests and valleys, a season full of possibilities begins in the Ybbstal Alps.

Whether on the slopes, cross-country trails, winter walking routes or toboggan runs, winter here always reveals a different side to itself. Between the Hochkar, the Ötscher and the snow-covered valleys, you can look forward to active days, experiences of nature and delightful stops for refreshments.

Winter amongst the mountains and valleys

In winter, the Ybbstal Alps offer plenty of scope for outdoor activities and experiences in nature. Snow-capped peaks, glistening slopes and crisp winter air set the scene for days spent outdoors. Sometimes you’ll hurtle downhill, other times you’ll make your way step by step through the snow or glide across the ice on skates. It is precisely these varied options that make winter in the region so special.
