From Waidhofen an der Ybbs, the route leads upstream through Opponitz and Hollenstein an der Ybbs, continuing on to St. Georgen am Reith, Göstling an der Ybbs and Lunz am See. The River Ybbs runs alongside the trail through the wintry landscape, past forests, snow-covered meadows and small villages. In Ybbsitz, the sound of blacksmiths’ hammers bears witness to a long tradition of craftsmanship, whilst in Gaming-Lackenhof, the Ötscher mountain provides the backdrop for carefree winter days.
