Skiing on the slopes and ski touring

Yes. On the Ötscher, ski touring and skiing on the slopes are permitted on all authorised and open slopes. It is important to observe the latest notices, closures and safety rules.

Yes. A valid ski touring pass is compulsory for ski touring and off-piste skiing on the Ötscher. 

Yes. At Ötscher, the slopes are generally closed every day from 5.00 pm to 8.30 am. During this time, for safety reasons, you must not walk or ski on the slopes.

Slope grooming work takes place whilst the slopes are closed. Snow groomers, winches and work being carried out on the slopes can be life-threatening. It is therefore essential that closure times are strictly observed.

Yes, provided snow conditions are suitable, designated evening ski touring routes will be open on Tuesday evening. 

These may be used from 4.30 pm to 9.00 pm.

When cycling at dusk or in the dark, good visibility is particularly important. A head torch and reflective clothing are recommended. Furthermore, only the approved evening routes may be used.

No. Dogs are not allowed on the slopes.

Before every trip, you should check the weather, visibility, snow conditions and avalanche risk. It is also important to check the latest information on open slopes, closures and operating hours.

Please use only the designated parking areas. With a valid ski touring ticket, you can use the car parks free of charge.

Ski tourers should ascend at the edge of the slope and in single file, only cross slopes in areas with a clear view, observe any barriers, leave dogs at home and ensure they are clearly visible in the dark.
