Skiing on the slopes and ski touring

Yes, ski touring is permitted at Hochkar – but only on the designated ski touring route. 

Skiing and ski touring on the groomed slopes of the Hochkar ski area are generally prohibited at all times of the day.

The start is at the lowest car park, P4, in the ski resort. From there, the ascent route initially follows the cross-country ski trail and then continues through open terrain to the mountain lake on the edge of the ski resort.

The ski touring route on the Hochkar is around 1.16 kilometres long and covers an elevation gain of approximately 164 metres. 

No. Ski touring and walking on the groomed slopes are prohibited all day at Hochkar. You must not ski on closed slopes either.

No. Use of the slopes outside operating hours (from 4.00 pm to 9.00 am) is prohibited. This also applies to ski tourers.

No. The ski touring route is not secured, not groomed and is not monitored. Use is at your own risk.

The ski touring route can be used free of charge. However, a parking ticket is required. These are available at the lift ticket offices or from the online shop.

After the end of the season, Slope 1 – the family run – is also available for use. Here too, please take note of the latest information and conditions.

Before setting off on the tour, you should check the snow conditions, weather, visibility and any current closures. As the route is not monitored, thorough preparation, suitable kit and acting responsibly are particularly important.
